Why Do Girls Have Real Long Nails What Are They For?

Me and my girlfriend had been talking about this and she said that long nails that girls have were not meant or used for scratching but they were just for show. I disagreed with her especially when she was scratching my back with her own long nails. So she asked me to take a poll on how many of you wiil agree with me- They are used for scratching or agree with her- they are not used for scratching but only for show. What do you all think?

She is right about that. I used to have my long nails to make my hands looking very elegant. However, I just got tired of taking care of them and have them short right now. It is nice to have long nails to scratch my back.
really just for show. i'm a girl, and whenever i see someone with healthy, long nails i get pretty jealous since i always have to use acrylics.

- protection (you never know...lol)

- and for show/ decoration..
Neither of those. They are for poking at your eyeballs when you say, do, or think of saying or doing something stupid. That my friend...is what your gf's not telling you.
I WOULD SAY SCRATCHING CAUSE LONG NAILS CROSS ME AS A SEXUAL TOY ESPECIALLY LONG RED ONES !!
well normally us girls have long nails for show, yeah i agree with your girlfriend. because we do really hot mani's with them ;).
