In many Aisan cultures the extra long pinky nail showes that the man is not a labor worker and that he is of welthy means. Since he does not work with his hands, the nail does not break. All in all, it can mean a lot of things.





One of my friends had a long pinky nail too. When I asked, I was informed that it was to assist him in his ';pimpin'';. Apparently, the idea is that it might be useful when executing a ';pimp slap';. Yah but i dont really think thats true.





But I know that a long pinky nail is used as a cocaine spoon. And that makes more sense.It's a coke nail. You don't have to do coke to have a coke nail. Doing coke was the original purpose. It has since become a fashion statement. Like all the white folks whereing the 'X' hats a few years back. Fashion blurs the line of the original utility of the action.





But also...A few of the guys I used to know grew their nails to make it easier to play classical guitar (because you use your fingers instead of a pick).





One theory is that it is simply to look cool. Or to clean ears, since it's safer than a Q-Tip. Or for nose picking....lol but really it could be.





And maybe if hes asian, in some Asian cultures, men will grow a long pinky nail to indicate wealth and status, since it proves that they obviously do not do manual labor.





But Im pretty sure its a coke nail. If he does coke.
